Valentine Gaillard
Biography
Valentine is a PhD Candidate in Engineering Science and Technology at the University of Liège. She started her PhD in October 2023 after graduating from her Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering. She did her Master Thesis on the adaptation to Achilles tendon insertion in human calcaneus bone samples in the Biological and Bioinspired Materials Laboratory.
In October 2023, she started his PhD granted by the Excellence of Science (EOS), in which the main topic is the biomechanical analysis of the cartilage-to-bone interface in mice. Specifically, she explores functional porosity and multiscale interactions between bone and cartilage, comparing Post-Traumatic Osteoarthritis (PTOA) with healthy conditions across different time frames.
