Laura Müller
Biography
Laura is a PhD Candidate in Engineering Science and Technology at the University of Liège. She started her PhD in October 2021 after graduating from her Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering. She did her master thesis in the Biological and Bioinspired Materials Laboratory about the ultrastructure and the mechanical properties of fish teeth.
In October 2021, she received a FRIA grant and is now working on the interface between cartilage and bone in aging and osteoarthritis. Discover more about her project here.
In addition, she is the website delegate for the PhD community of the University (ReD).
Skills
- Computational & computer skills: Matlab, Iron cad, Opensim, ImageJ, LateX
- Experimental skills: Sample preparation and processing (cutting, dehydration, embedding, and grinding-polishing), usage of a nanoindenter (TI 950 TriboIndenter, Bruker) for modulus mapping and static indents microelectronics, data collection in the gait-based laboratory (usage of camera motion capture system and force plates, markers placement, usage of Codamotion)
