Biography

Tim is a PhD student in Engineering Science and Technology at the University of Liège. He started his PhD course in October 2020 just after graduating from his Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering. His master thesis was about an image-based mechanical analysis of the tendon-to-bone attachment. More specifically, the attachments of the Achilles tendon as well as the plantar fascia on the calcaneus bone were focused. The main aim of this thesis was to better understand the stress distribution at the tendon interface and inside the bone beneath the attachments. To do so, a computational framework based on experimental data was proposed.
